The lid will remain open as long as there is debris or a hand within the sensor's range, closing automatically three seconds after you move your hand away. On a normal daily usage basis, the power can last up to 6 months.

The trash can comes with a ring liner that conceals the trash bag from view for a tidy and clean look.
