When your hand or debris is within 10 in. and 130-degree angle from the infrared sensor, the lid will automatically open. The lid will stay open as long as debris or your hand remains within the sensor's range. After three seconds of your hand moving away from the lid, it will close automatically. The power lasts for at least 6 months in normal daily use. Batteries are required (not included). It includes a garbage bag ring to keep the bag hidden for a clean and tidy appearance.
